About
Now, I want us all to be human.
From a young age, I was captivated by the mysteries of life and the cosmos. Pursuing a Ph.D. in physics seemed like the logical path toward understanding everything, echoing Einstein's quest for a unified theory.
As I progressed with that "bottom-up" approach, I discovered a critical void - the absence of human connection in the pursuit. Growing up in the post-integrated American South amidst the shadows of racism, I became acutely aware of the need for kindness and compassion when building trust, supporting others, and developing authentic relationships.
For over two decades in the business world, I've witnessed the stark contrast between analytical rigor and relational empathy. Analytical proficiency drives efficiency and productivity - but it is only through mastering genuine human connections that we create workplaces with everything else we say we want to experience: feeling valued, having purpose, and belonging.
My journey has led me to embrace a human theory of everything - one that prioritizes engaging others with care and compassion. By infusing our professional environments with these qualities, we cultivate positive and healthy work cultures where people are engaged, businesses succeed, and everyone can thrive.
